A Birthday Reflection – Stepping into a New Season

Yesterday, I turned 43. Birthdays have always been a gentle pause for me—a moment of reflection, gratitude, and rest. Yet this one feels different. There’s a quiet shift stirring within me, as if life is whispering that a new season is beginning.

Perhaps it’s because I’ve reached a stage of motherhood where I know my childbearing journey has come to its natural close. My youngest is now three, and we are tenderly moving towards the end of our breastfeeding journey. My eldest, at 21, has already spread her wings, finishing university and embracing her own path in the world. My second born turns 18 this October, standing on the threshold of adulthood.

Motherhood has been my greatest teacher—two decades of navigating its ever-changing chapters have shaped who I am today. Through it all, one truth has remained constant: my passion for nurturing and supporting mothers, especially in those tender early days. That passion still burns so brightly within me.

Over the years, I’ve invested deeply in learning—immersing myself in the beauty of nurturing touch, mindful parenting, and infant neuroscience. The Hart of Mothering was born from the simple yet powerful belief that when mothers are nurtured, babies and families flourish.

As I step into this new year of life, my intention is clear: to reach more mothers, to welcome more babies into warm, baby-led classes, and to continue weaving mindfulness and gentle care into every offering. With my mindful breastfeeding qualification, I feel even more equipped to bring depth, value, and support to the families I serve.

This birthday has also brought me clarity—an invitation to release what no longer serves me and to step fully into a bigger, braver version of myself and my work. I know change is coming to The Hart of Mothering, and I am both excited and grateful for the growth ahead.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to everyone who has been part of this journey so far. Your love and support mean more than words.

Here’s to new beginnings, deeper connections, and the beautiful unfolding of what’s to come.
